Episodic memory is foundational to life experience—it creates our identities and guides our decisions. Stress-related memories often persist or have increased valence and contribute to the development of affective disorders, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The goal of our lab is to understand the neurobiology of stress-related, fear-provoking memories. We are a team of intellectual and dedicated scientists engaged in rigorous scientific questioning ranging from recent to remote memory, adolescence to adulthood, and circuits to molecular signaling. The Radulovic lab values a holistic approach to scientific questioning. Each hypothesis is structured to dissect hippocampal dependent behaviors from a circuit level down to cellular and molecular signaling. We hope to continue expanding the understanding of episodic memory to substantiate the development of treatments for affective disorders.
